Cavity Wall Insulation

What is Cavity Wall Insulation?

Cavity wall insulation is a process that fills the cavity walls of a property with an insulating material to reduce heat loss. This is achieved by drilling into the external walls and blowing or pumping the insulation material into the cavity. The insulation material has low thermal conductivity and closed-cell technology, which prevents moisture absorption, ensuring optimal insulation performance.

One of the advantages of this insulation is that it does not require any aftercare.

Cavity Wall Insulation FAQs

Which properties are suitable?

Any property with cavity walls can have cavity wall insulation installed.

How does it work?

The installation process begins with drilling small holes into the cavity wall from either inside or outside the property.

Next, a specialized device is used to pump or blow a mixture of insulation material, typically consisting of insulation beads and a bonding agent, into the wall cavity.

Lastly, once the cavity wall is completely filled with insulation, the drill holes are sealed.

How much will it cost?

The cost of  is determined by the size and type of dwelling. For example, a detached house has more cavity to fill than a mid-terrace dwelling.

Our installers offer competitive prices for cavity wall insulation and include a 25-year guarantee with all work. We also work with various funding streams that may partially or completely cover the cost of energy efficiency measures, depending on your eligibility.

The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS) provides funding for a range of insulation measures. For further details, please visit our dedicated GBIS page.
